My name is Jamie O’Brien, and I am a Senior Information Systems Major hoping to complete my degree in December of this year.
This will be my second bachelors degree, as I currently have a BA in Music from a previous college. The reason I have that previous degree weighs heavily on the fact that I was unaware of my options in the STEM fields growing up.
I would love to share the complexities and excitement of STEM with other women who were not made aware of the possibilities waiting for them in these fields. The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing will be a wonderful way for me to gain more skills and knowledge about the field while connecting with other women who have the same goals as myself, and I am very excited for the experience!
