The Irish Song Tradition

Tai Chi Qigong Practice @ NOON

Description: This Qigong session is a blending of meditation, breathing, and slow fluid movements incorporated into a 30-minute set with an emphasis on the breathing. The practice is FREE and open to all UMSL faculty, staff, and students. It is suitable for people of all sizes, ages, and fitness levels. No previous experience or special clothing is needed.

Arianna String Quartet: World Premiere

Description: The third series concert by completes the season-long journey through the middle quartets of Beethoven with a performance of the riveting Quartet in F minor, Op.95, “Serioso”, and ends the evening with Tchaikovsky’s splendid Quartet No.3 in E-flat minor. The centerpiece of the evening is the world-premiere of David Stock’s Quartet No.9, a work written for the Arianna String Quartet. Mr. Stock’s award-winning compositions have been performed by the New York Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, to name a few. BEETHOVEN: Quartet in F minor, Op. 95, “Serioso” TCHAIKOVSKY: Quartet No.3 in E-flat minor STOCK: Quartet No. 9. Tickets are FREE with UMSL Student ID (Limited Quantites Available).
