This spring, University Marketing and Communications at UMSL redesigned the graphics on two patrol vehicles driven by members of the UMSL Police Department.

“I updated the look without pushing the graphics too far from the existing patrol vehicles,” said Sandy Morris, the graphic designer who created the vehicle artwork. “I wanted a contemporary look that wasn’t too sporty, and I wanted to see some motion.”

The photo: Eleven members of the department gather around one of the 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe SUVs that feature the new artwork. They are (from left to right): Sgt. JT Thompson, Patrol Officer Greg Bingham, Sgt. Tom McEwen, Detective Marisa Smith, Chief Forrest Van Ness, Patrol Officer Corey Jones, Lt. Charlie Roeseler, Emergency Driver Brandon Allen, Patrol Officer Brandon Burton, Sgt. Chris Rudolph and Lt. Steve Salamon.

The picture, by campus photographer August Jennewein, is the latest to be featured at Eye on UMSL.
