Fifty-six University of Missouri–St. Louis student-athletes showed success both on the field and in the classroom. They were named to the Academic All-Great Lakes Valley Conference team.

All 11 of UMSL’s sports teams were represented on the team with baseball contributing the most student-athletes at 11. Women’s basketball and women’s soccer each accounted for eight student-athletes on the team.

Twenty-nine student-athletes were repeat recipients for this award, having been named at least once before during their career. And 10 UMSL seniors on the team also received the prestigious GLVC Council of President’s Academic Excellence Award.

To be nominated for the Academic All-GLVC team, student-athletes must have either a) completed at least two semesters at their institution and have a cumulative GPA which meets the Academic All-American standard (3.30) or have attained a GPA of at least 3.40 in each of the preceding two semesters or b) have not completed two semesters and attained a GPA of 3.40 or higher.

The honorees of the GLVC Council of Presidents’ Academic Excellence Award exemplify the outstanding student-athletes in the GLVC. Each honoree has exhausted his or her eligibility as a collegiate athlete and maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average throughout their academic career. In addition, to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must have competed in the GLVC for a minimum of two years and completed 96 credit hours.
