Annual Optometry Academe

Description: The American Board of Optometry was established to confirm the continued competence of the already licensed optometrists beyond the entry level. As a service to optometrists who intend to take the ABO computerized test, the UMSL College of Optometry faculty will present a review of the OD curriculum in preparation for the ABO test. The ABO test is administered and graded online by the American Board of Optometry in January and June of each year. Fee: $285.

Ferguson Citywalk Trolley

The Ferguson Citywalk Trolley will pick up passengers at Provincial House and Mansion Hills on the UMSL campus and provide round-trip shuttle to Ferguson Citywalk restaurants for lunch. The trip is about 10 minutes each way and will make four continuous loops between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The trolley will drop off and pick up at Ferguson restaurants.

Description: Event Photography is an intermediate- to advanced-level photography class, focusing on the digital capture of images, the business of photography and client relations. We will discuss a variety of event photography types, including weddings, corporate and non-profit events, photo booths, concerts, etc. Special emphasis will be placed on photographing for the client. We will learn how to make fabulous WOW shots of the bride and groom as well as how to photograph a 30-person family portrait in a dimly lit church. We will focus on the appropriate lens and lighting choices in each situation in order to make your clients look their best. General pricing, selling techniques, cost of goods and cost of business will be discussed so that you will understand how to price yourself to make a living as a photographer. Fee: $399.
