UMSL alumna Rebecca Haas created this portrait photograph that will be part of the exhibition “Synesthesia." It will run from Oct. 3 to Nov. 14 at Gallery Visio.

The next Gallery Visio exhibit at the University of Missouri–St. Louis will be a combination of vivid and dramatic portrait photographs and live art elements.

“Synesthesia” is the brainchild of UMSL alumna Rebecca Haas, BFA 2010. The exhibit’s name takes inspiration from the neurological condition of the same name in which a person attributes a personality to a certain color or a taste to a number. Haas’ work plays on the senses and invites the viewer to be a participant in the exhibit.

There will be an opening reception from 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 3 at Gallery Visio. The exhibit will run through Nov. 14. Admission is free and open to the public.

Gallery Visio is a student-run art space in 170 Millennium Student Center at UMSL’s North Campus. Regular hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
