The University Orchestra, University Jazz Ensemble and Vocal Point will perform Dec. 2 at the Holiday Jazz Concert at the Touhill.

Get into the spirit of the season with the annual holiday jazz concert at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

The University Orchestra, University Jazz Ensemble and Vocal Point will perform Dec. 2 during the “Jazz for the Holidays” concert at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center at UMSL. The concert will begin at 3 p.m. in the Anheuser-Busch Performance Hall. It is free and open to the public.

The event has become one of the most anticipated concerts of the holiday season. It will feature the combined sounds of UMSL’s Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Jim Widner, director of jazz studies; Vocal Point, conducted by Jim Henry, director of choral studies and the University Orchestra, conducted by Robert Howard, orchestra conductor.

Audiences will hear holiday classics such as “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “The Christmas Song,” “Jingle Bells” and selections from “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” in addition to other holiday favorites.

The concert also will feature special guest artists, spectacular stage lighting and a complementary treat after the show.

The event is sponsored by the Department of Music at UMSL.
