Inventing something new in the land of opportunity is the American dream, but only if you’re the first to patent it.
George Wu, an associate with Husch Blackwell LLP, will discuss “IP Protection in Light of the America Invents Act” at 8 a.m. Jan. 10 in the Student Government Association Chamber at the Millennium Student Center on the North Campus of the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
Wu will discuss intellectual property protection with regard to the America Invents Act, which switched the U.S. patent system from a “first to invent” to a “first inventor to file” system.
The discussion is part of the monthly Breakfast & Business Series by the College of Business Administration at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
Breakfast and networking will begin at 7:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required. Call 314-516-5883 or e-mail jane_ferrell@umsl.edu to reserve a spot. Or register online.
