Hannah Perryman, freshman pitcher for the UMSL softball team

For the third time this season, freshman pitcher Hannah Perryman (pictured) of the University of Missouri–St. Louis softball team has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced Monday by the league office.

Perryman pitched 16 innings in UMSL’s 4-0 showing against Rockhurst University (Kansas City, Mo.) and William Jewell College (Liberty, Mo.), respectively last week after tossing two wins and a save in the circle. In 16.0 innings, she struck out 38 batters to finish with a 0.88 ERA. With the wins, Perryman improved to 10-4 in the circle, and is responsible for five wins in the UMSL Tritons’ last 11 contests.

The Streamwood, Ill., native leads the Tritons in strikeouts (170), appearances (17) and wins (10), while in league play, she ranks No. 3 in strikeouts looking (27), and batting average (.151), and No. 5 in innings pitched (88.0).

Perryman is majoring in criminology and criminal justice at UMSL.

UMSL (18-8, 9-1 GLVC) hosts Maryville University (Town and Country, Mo.) in a doubleheader on April 2.
