Troy Halterman is the head coach of the men’s golf team at UMSL.

University of Missouri–St. Louis head men’s golf coach Troy Halterman was named Eaton Golf Midwest Region Coach of the Year by the Golf Coaches Association.

Halterman directed the UMSL Tritons to a tie for fifth place finish at the 2013 NCAA Championship, marking the program’s best finish. It was the second time in three years that UMSL advanced to the NCAA Championship. The Tritons tied for seventh place in stroke play at the national event, earning a bid to match play, where they lost a 4-1 decision to eventual national champion Barry.

UMSL placed in the top 10 in 11 of 13 tournaments they competed in throughout the year, including six top five finishes and a pair of team titles. Halterman also coached junior Joe Atkisson to the Great Lakes Valley Conference individual title and coached junior Warren Crow, who became just the second player in program history to earn All-America honors.
