New Student Orientation (NSO)

Description: The Office of New Student Programs welcomes all admitted new undergraduate students and their families to the Triton Community! NSO is designed to help admitted UMSL first-year undergraduate students, parents and families make a smooth transition to UMSL. Participation in NSO is required for all new first-year students. Registration is required prior to the NSO date, so please visit our website. Consider NSO to be your first day at UMSL and the foundation of your educational journey! You will meet new and returning students, learn more about academic support services and campus life, and begin the process of transitioning into a collegiate atmosphere. Camping and Float Trip on the upper Meramec River

Campus and Academic Leaders Forum

Description: This forum is a one-day program held to prepare for the fall semester. It is designed for chairs, deans, associate and assistant deans, and directors. New chairs are invited to an orientation for the first hour, beginning at 9 a.m. Deans and directors attend with their cabinet teams and convene at 10 a.m. The agenda includes a discussion of legal issues relevant to working in a university and essential knowledge for administrators, faculty, staff and students. An attorney from the UM General Counsel’s office is present to support this discussion. An update on UMSL initiatives, policies and procedures important to know as the academic year begins will be given.
