UMSL Men's Tennis player Tim Mclarty

Tim McLarty, a junior on the UMSL men’s tennis team, opened the season by winning the No. 3 singles flight at the Billiken Classic, hosted by Saint Louis University.

Women’s Soccer
The University of Missouri–St. Louis opened its schedule with a pair of victories, beginning the season at 2-0 for the first time since 2001. The UMSL Tritons competed in the Embassy Suites Invitational, last weekend, hosted by Lindenwood. UMSL defeated Emporia State, 2-0, in the opener on Friday, before topping the host team on Sunday, 2-1. The Tritons travel to Quincy on Friday for the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener before hosting Truman State on Sunday in their home opener. 

Men’s Soccer
The Tritons bounced back from a 2-1 season opening loss to No. 18 Lindenwood on Saturday night by posting a 2-0 victory over Southwest Baptist on Sunday at the GLVC/MIAA Challenge, hosted by Missouri S&T. UMSL travels to Quincy on Friday for the GLVC opener before hosting Truman State on Sunday in its home opener.

Volleyball
UMSL traveled to Big Rapids, Mich., last weekend to open its 2013 campaign at the Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Ferris State, and posted a 2-2 record. The Tritons swept Saginaw Valley State and Indiana (Pa.), while suffering tough losses to Ferris State (3-0) and Ashland (3-0), both NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago. UMSL will travel to Florence, Ala., this weekend for the North Alabama Tournament. 

Men’s Tennis
Junior Tim McLarty won the No. 3 singles flight at the Billiken Classic, hosted by Saint Louis University, last weekend as the Tritons opened the fall portion of their schedule. UMSL will travel to Allendale, Mich., Sept. 20-22 for the ITA Regionals. 

Women’s Tennis
UMSL opened the fall portion of its schedule last Friday and Saturday at the Billiken Classic, hosted by Saint Louis University. The two-day, four-team event was held at Dwight Davis Tennis Center and also included Lewis and SIU Edwardsville. The Tritons return to the court on Thursday in a dual match against Missouri Baptist at 3 p.m. 

Women’s Golf
The Tritons claimed the Prairie State Preview team title last Saturday, posting a score of 312, while sophomore Tayler Hoag won medalist honors with a 73. Junior Bailey Hopper made it a one-two punch by placing second with a 74. 

Men’s Golf
UMSL opened the season last Tuesday by winning the Arch Cup, defeating Lindenwood, 5-2, in match play. The Tritons carded a team score of 594 (299-295). Senior Joe Atkisson took runner-up honors individually, shooting a 145 (72-73).
