UMSL Women's Basketball

The UMSL women’s basketball team fell a free throw short of a fifth straight win despite rallying from a 12-point deficit against Lindenwood. The team is now 4-2 on the year.

Men’s Basketball
The University of Missouri–St. Louis picked up two more wins last week, improving to 8-0 overall, the program’s best start. The UMSL Tritons posted an 83-77 win at Lindenwood on Wednesday before garnering a 103-65 home win over MacMurray on Saturday. Senior Aareon Smith averaged 18.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, while junior Tre Ogles followed with 17.5 points per game, including a 30-point effort in the win over MacMurray. The Tritons (8-0) close out their nonconference schedule this weekend in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The Tritons face West Texas A&M on Saturday and Nova Southeastern on Sunday.

Women’s Basketball
UMSL saw a four-game win streak snapped at Lindenwood on Saturday with a 79-78 loss. The Tritons rallied from a 12-point deficit midway though the second half to tie the game with seven seconds remaining, only to see the host Lions win the game at the free throw line in the final second. Senior Alexis Lawrence led UMSL with 25 points, tying a career-high six three-pointers. The Tritons (4-2) will close out the nonconference slate this weekend with a pair of games in Ohio. The Tritons are at Findlay on Saturday and at Ohio Dominican on Sunday.
