University of Missouri–St. Louis junior forward Miriam Taylor has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Taylor, an accounting major, tallied an impressive eight points on three goals and two assists in wins over Drury and Missouri S&T last weekend, scoring the game-winner in both matches. Of her seven shots in the two games, six were on goal. In the 4-0 win over Drury, which sat ahead of the Tritons in league standings entering Friday’s game, the junior notched two goals. She finished the first just 3:12 into the contest and added her second goal nine minutes later to put the Tritons up by three. Taylor also assisted on freshman McKayla Harder‘s goal that put UMSL on top 2-0. The forward then recorded UMSL’s second goal against S&T and added an assist in the 5-1 victory. UMSL has won four straight and moved up to third in the GLVC standings.
The Osage Beach, Mo., native’s first career weekly honor is also the first Triton offensive selection since September 22, 2014 for Laura Hurlbut.
