Stefaniya Ivanova

University of Missouri–St. Louis sophomore Stefaniya Ivanova has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Golf Player of the Month for September. Ivanova earned the honor following a vote from the league’s women’s golf coaches.

The Moscow native played in four rounds in two tournaments last month and averaged 73.25 strokes.

Ivanova, a mathematics major, earned medalist honors by seven shots at the GVSU Fall Invitational with a 71-70—141. She also finished second at the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagle Invitational with scores of 77-75—152. The UMSL Tritons team also finished first and second in each respective tournament, carding a 308-302=610 at GVSU and a 317-316—633 at USI.

This monthly honor is the first career selection for the sophomore, and she is the first Triton to be chosen since Bailey Hopper earned the nod November 11, 2013.
