The University of Missouri–St. Louis Tritons went 0-1-1 this week and had their 12-game unbeaten streak snapped. UMSL opened the weekend with a 2-2 double overtime draw against No. 19 Bellarmine on Friday night with goals from junior Kayla Delgado and freshman McKayla Harder. The Tritons then celebrated Senior Day on Sunday, honoring their 11 graduating players, but lost for only the second time this season with a 2-1 setback. Senior Kali Thomas scored UMSL’s lone goal. UMSL (10-2-4, 8-2-4 Great Lakes Valley Conference) will close out the regular season on Wednesday at Maryville before beginning GLVC Tournament play on Sunday.

UMSL began the weekend with a convincing 5-2 win over visiting Bellarmine, scoring four goals in the first half. Senior Tyler Collico and junior DJ Bednar scored two goals each in the win. The Tritons couldn’t sustain the offensive momentum on Sunday, however, in a 1-0 loss to Southern Indiana on a last second goal. UMSL (7-7-2, 6-6-2 GLVC) will close out the regular season at Maryville on Wednesday with a GLVC Tournament berth on the line.

Despite the loss, freshman Maddy Russell recorded a career-high 15 kills. UMSL (11-13, 5-6 GLVC) continues its homestand on Friday and Saturday, hosting McKendree and Illinois Springfield, respectively.
