A video highlighting UMSL's nine colleges and schools, beautifully diverse campus and vibrant sense of community debuted at the university's 2016 Founders Dinner.

Many students from UMSL’s various colleges and schools were interviewed during the filming of the video. Though their reasons for choosing UMSL varied, they often came back to the people who make the campus environment so welcoming.

The people. The professors. The colleges. These are all shining points of pride for the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

They were each given their proper due last Thursday night, as they were called out by proud student voices in a video that premiered at this year’s Founders Dinner – an event that celebrates distinguished alumni, outstanding faculty and staff, and the many generous donors who contribute to making UMSL the remarkable institution that it is.

The video, compiled by the university’s marketing and communications team, opens with lively shots of the city of St. Louis, progresses through gorgeous drone-captured views of the campus and weaves student commentary throughout footage of each of UMSL’s schools and colleges – all nine of which received warm cheers and applause as audience members recognized their home departments on campus.

Highlights of athletics, campus housing and recreation, and a shout-out to the largest alumni network in St. Louis, were also included.

Although the video was introduced as part of the Founders Dinner program, its impact will reach much further. The marketing and communications team will use it, along with other captured footage, as a powerful tool for future recruitment and retention efforts as they aim to convey to potential students that there really is “just one choice.”
