UMSL Tritons weekly rewind

Both the men's and women's basketball teams went 2-0 on the road last week with junior guard Kaitlynn Henning hitting a game-winning 3-pointer in the waning seconds at Lewis.

Junior guard Kaitlynn Henning knocked in a 3-pointer from the corner with 3.1 seconds left as the women’s basketball team rallied from an 18-point deficit and secured a 66-63 victory Thursday night at Lewis in a battle of Great Lakes Valley Conference division leaders.

Women’s Basketball
Kaitlynn Henning hit a a game-winning 3-pointer with 3.1 seconds remaining Thursday to lift UMSL to a 66-63 victory at Lewis in what was a battle of Great Lakes Valley Conference division leaders. The win snapped the Flyers’ 10-game winning streak. The Tritons had trailed by as many as 18 points and outscored Lewis 24-5 in the fourth quarter. They then earned a 77-63 win at Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday. Senior Jordan Fletcher averaged 20.5 points in the two games, including a 25-point outing at UW-Parkside, and also pulled down the 600th rebound of her career. UMSL (14-5, 8-4 GLVC) returns home this weekend to play host to Indianapolis and Missouri S&T on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.

Men’s Basketball
The Tritons posted back-to-back win on the road last week, defeating Lewis 71-65 and Wisconsin-Parkside 57-49. Senior Steven Davis averaged 17 points including a career-high 26-point outburst at UW-Parkside. Senior Elijah Watson added 14 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. UMSL (11-10, 6-6 GLVC) is at Lewis on Thursday and at Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday.
