Men’s Golf
The University of Missouri–St. Louis men’s golf team set a school record while finishing third in a nine-team field at the UIndy Fall Invitational, which wrapped up last Tuesday at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis. The Tritons posted a combined score of 837, the lowest 54-hole total in school history, and finished eight shots back of tournament-winner Missouri S&T. Sophomore Dani Solavera tied for third and matched the lowest 54-hole score in school history at 205. That included an opening-round 64, the third-lowest round by an UMSL golfer. Freshman Logan Mayo posted the third-lowest 54-hole score in school history and finished in a tie for fifth with a total of 207. Classmate Trigg Lindahl tied for 11th with a total of 210, tied for the eighth-lowest score in school history. Ashland’s Matthew McMullen was the individual medalist with a score of 201. UMSL is competing at the Midwest Regional Preview at the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri. The tournament concludes on Tuesday.

Volleyball
The fifth-ranked Tritons dropped their Great Lakes Valley Conference opener on Friday at Rockhurst but bounced back with a road victory at William Jewell on Saturday. The Hawks outhit UMSL .292-.255 in a 25-18, 16-25, 25-20, 25-23 victory. Alayna Santel had a team-high 15 kills and Iyannah Jackson added 14 in the loss, but the Tritons committed 19 attack errors. Caitlin Bishop had 52 assists, and Skylar Weaver had a team-high 22 digs. UMSL dropped the first set 25-17 against William Jewell but came back to sweep the next three sets 25-19, 25-17, 25-16. Santel and Brooklyn Young each had 16 kills in the victory. Bishop had 58 assists, and Weaver had 23 digs. UMSL hit .378 with only 14 attack errors. The Tritons (10-2, 1-1 GLVC) play at McKendree on Friday in their lone match of the week.

Women’s Soccer
UMSL used a late goal to salvage a 1-1 tie with Missouri S&T on Sunday after blitzing Lincoln 6-1 Friday night at the Creve Coeur Soccer Park. Jada Holloman scored in the 88th minute, heading a pass from Aubree Wallace past Miners goalkeeper Anastasia Barcom. It was Holloman’s team-leading sixth goal of the season and came 2½ minutes after Brooke Bendoff scored to put Missouri S&T in front. The Tritons outshot the Miners 16-8. Julie Steiger got UMSL on the board much earlier against Lincoln, finding the net in the fifth minute with assists from Holloman and Jaycee Cotton. The Tritons protected their one-goal lead through the remainder of the first half before scoring five times after intermission. Kamryn Ealey, Josie Maddox and Taylor Martin each had one tally, and Natalie Scott added a pair of goals in the final 15 minutes. Grace Larson scored the Blue Tigers’ loan goal with just over two minutes remaining. UMSL (4-2-2, 1-2-2 GLVC) will take on Maryville on Friday at Don Dallas Soccer Field in the only match of the week.

Men’s Soccer
The Tritons played Lincoln and Missouri S&T to 1-1 draws over the weekend at the Creve Coeur Soccer Park. Roman Ryabchenko pulled UMSL even with a goal in the 82nd minute on Friday night against the Blue Tigers. His goal came almost eight minutes after Shandee Brooks had given Lincoln the lead. The Tritons struck first on Sunday when Linus Saewe scored at the 75:06 mark, but UMSL only maintained that advantage for 30 seconds before Alexander Burum pulled the Miners even. Missouri S&T outshot UMSL 14-6, but Austin Reis stood up to the barrage with eight saves. The Tritons (3-2-3, 1-1-3 GLVC) will play host to Maryville on Friday in their only match of the week.

Men’s and Women’s Cross Country
Jacob Warner finished 47th in a field of nearly 200 runners in the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Warner was the ninth-best finisher among non-Division I runners, finishing the 8-kilometer race in 25 minutes, 19.3 seconds to lead UMSL’s men’s cross country team to a 12th-place finish – third among non-Division I teams. Will Kaempfe and Toby Middleton were the next UMSL runners to cross the finish line with times of 26:11.1 and 26:13.6 respectively. The Tritons also sent men’s and women’s teams to the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The women’s team finished fifth out of 23 teams. Kayley Heeter was UMSL’s top finisher, placing 13th in the 5-kilometer race with a time of 19:32.2. Ella Tynan and Bridget Rage were 30th and 35th, rspectively. The men’s team finished 24th and were led by Rafael Montemayor, who finished the 8-kilometer race in 27:22.3. Both the men’s and women’s teams will next compete as the host team in the Brian T. Simpson Invitational on Oct. 12 at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri.

Women’s Tennis
The Tritons rallied for a 4-3 victory over William Woods on Sunday at the UMSL Tennis Courts. UMSL dropped two of the three doubles matches but came back strong in singles with Hannah Tse beating Hanna Lindeboom 7-5, 6-3 in No. 1, Aleksandra Lopez picking up a 6-2, 6-2 win over Kristina Dimitrijevic at No. 3. and Morgan Lint and Guiliana Cunza each winning in straight sets at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively. The Tritons (1-0) will come in the SIUE Invitational next Friday and Saturday in Edwardsville, Illinois.

Men’s Tennis
UMSL lost to William Woods 7-0 on Sunday at the UMSL Tennis Courts. Tanin Ramnath and Bauty Rooney won the No. 2 doubles match 6-3 over Duarte Melo and Robert Schorr, but the Owls picked up victories at No. 1 and No. 3 to claim the doubles point. They swept singles, taking all six matches in straight sets. The Tritons (0-1) will take on Missouri Baptist on Friday at Christian Brothers College Cadet Park.
