Members of UMSL Sustainability participated in the annual Confluence Trash Bash clean-up on South Campus in early April.

Confluence Trash Bash

University of Missouri–St. Louis senior biology major James Ott steps into the creek near the community garden to remove trash from the banks as other volunteers work their way up the creek to find more trash. Ott, with UMSL Sustainability, was the site leader for the Confluence Trash Bash, an annual event where community members around the region gather to remove trash from local creeks and rivers in an effort to keep the watershed clean.

Ott and other students and volunteers gathered on April 7 at the community garden on South Campus and worked to clean areas including the creek, community garden and parking garage.

UMSL Sustainability is “dedicated to the careful and creative stewardship of the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of UMSL campus life within the St. Louis community.”
