Associate Professor Aimee Dunlap joined Nine PBS to discuss her planned multiyear study of behavioral patterns of the bee populations at an urban agriculture research site along Interstate 44 in the city of St. Louis. Dunlap will be comparing the nesting, foraging and pollination patterns of bees living at The Green House Venture’s Embankment Greenway to that of bees living in rural areas.
The St. Louis Business Journal and Illinois Business Journal covered UMSL alum Kylee Garretson’s appointment as senior vice president for business attraction with Greater St. Louis Inc. Garretson earned a master’s degree in public policy administration from UMSL, and in her new position, she will oversee a team that helps guide companies through the site selection process.
Jefferson College named Annie Mbale its 2025 Alumna of the Year. Mbale, who came to the U.S. from Malawi, earned an associate degree at Jefferson before she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business at UMSL. The St. Louis American also carried news of her promotion to program manager at the St. Louis Mosaic Project. Mbale will manage day-to-day programs for the Mosaic Project’s efforts to attract and retain foreign-born individuals to the St. Louis region.
