The St. Louis American profiled Eric’el Johnson, an UMSL engineering alum, who has gone on to make her mark at Boeing. Johnson is a senior systems engineering manager at Boeing, where she helps connect engineering teams to deliver computing-related products for multiple different aircrafts. She’s also the founder of the Boeing Engineering Mentoring Program.
Shirley Washington of Fox 2 Now’s “The Pulse” sat down with Chancellor Kristin Sobolik to discuss changes coming to UMSL, the university’s success with students and what Sobolik hopes for the school’s future. Sobolik touched on the ongoing campus renovations related to the Transform UMSL initiative, and she also noted that the university’s research and sponsored activity has more than tripled since she arrived on campus in 2017. In the last fiscal year, UMSL received more than $88 million in research awards with $85 million in research expenditures.
