Angela Truesdale, a University of Missouri–St. Louis accounting alum, speaks with UMSL students about her career and role as Virtual CFO at Anders during the UMSL Accounting Club’s Launch Your Career event last week at Anheuser-Busch Hall.
Truesdale graduated from the accelerated MAcc program last year. During her time at UMSL, she served as treasurer and president of the UMSL Accounting Club and earned numerous accolades including the Remington R. Williams Award, the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants scholarship and the Becker CPA Exam Review Course scholarship.
The student organization’s Launch Your Career event brings together UMSL students and successful young accounting professionals, like Truesdale, from some of the area’s leading public accounting firms. Students have the opportunity to learn more about what the professionals do, what opportunities are available at their companies and what it’s like to launch a career in public accounting. Representatives from 10 firms were present this year.
