Alumni, students, faculty and staff members and other friends turned out on a sunny and crisp autumn Saturday morning to take part at the University of Missouri–St. Louis for the sixth annual UMSL 5K Run/Walk.

Corner 17, a local Chinese restaurant owned by UMSL alum Xin Wei, sponsored the event, which attracted a field of 224 registered participants – an increase of nearly 40% over last year.

UMSL photographer Derik Holtmann was on hand to capture scenes as the participants made their way from Alumni Circle, in the shadow of the new Richter Family Welcome and Alumni Center, up, down and up again over the rolling terrain of North Campus.
