Interim Chancellor Chris Spilling expresses gratitude to students, faculty and staff while speaking during a campus open house at the new Richter Family Welcome and Alumni Center on Wednesday morning at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
“Faculty, staff and students are what make UMSL what it is,” Spilling said during brief remarks. “I really want to thank you for all the work and dedication that each of you brings to the table, and that’s why I’m thrilled to have this occasion when we can open up this building to all of you, and you can share in the the joy I feel when I see our campus transforming in the way that it is.”
The new center was dedicated in August and officially opened with an alumni open house on Sept. 24, but last Wednesday’s event provided members of the campus community with their first peak inside the new building, which will serve as the front door to the university, welcoming prospective students and hosting alumni returning to campus.
