Over the past 24 years, more than 400 faculty exchanges in more than 40 disciplines have occurred between the University of Missouri System and the University of Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa. This collaborative partnership has yielded important research, as well as broadened perspectives.

Most of that research is funded through grants — up to $10,000 — from the University of Missouri South African Education Program. There also is the South Africa Partnership Program that awards three to four grants intended to support cooperative programs between UM system faculty and staff with other South African institutions.

At 2 p.m. April 22, a two-hour TelePresence video conference will be held in room 61 in the University Center on the ground floor of the J.C. Penney Conference Center. During the conference the grant application process will be explained. Interested UMSL faculty and professional staff will have the opportunity to ask questions.
