John Carleton has certainly had an adventurous career since graduating from high school in St. Louis. He joined the Foreign Service in 2010. His first assignment was as a financial management officer in the U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan. Before that, his work took him to Kazakhstan, France, Vietnam and Jamaica.
Carleton will talk about his experiences working abroad, careers in the Foreign Service and the work of the U.S. Department of State at 2 p.m. March 15 in room 331 Social Sciences & Business Building at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
The talk is free and open to the public. It’s sponsored by International Studies and Programs at UMSL, Office of Career Services, International Business Institute, Department of Political Science, Pierre Laclede Honors College, Department of History, Department of Anthropology, Sociology and Languages, Office of Multicultural Relations and the U.S. Department of State.
