Steve Cash, although very modest, continues to have the limelight shine on him.
The University of Missouri–St. Louis senior business major’s latest attention came Sunday as the seasoned United States sled hockey goalie made eight saves, shutting out Canada 3-0 in the gold-medal game of the 2015 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships A-Pool.
For the past nine years, Cash has represented the United States. He’s won gold medals at the 2014 and 2010 Paralympic Winter Games and a bronze medal in 2006. In 10 games in Paralympic play, he’s allowed just two goals.
Cash, of Overland, Mo., was recently featured on TeamUSA.org for his outstanding record.
UMSL Daily caught up with Cash last summer to talk about the winter games in Sochi.
