Senior Carly Ochs tallied a career-best 22 kills Saturday as UMSL closed out the year with a five-set victory over Drury on Senior Day.

Women’s Soccer
UMSL saw its season come to an end in the NCAA Tournament with a 1-0 loss to Quincy last Friday. The Tritons, playing in their first NCAA game in 32 years, outshot the Hawks, 21-9, but Quincy’s first half goal was all the Hawks needed. The Tritons finished up their season with a record of 12-5-4.

Volleyball
The Tritons finished their final week of the season with a pair of wins, going 2-1. UMSL rallied back to win three straight sets after dropping the first set at Maryville last Tuesday, with three players posting double-digit kills (Maddy Russel1 – 15 kills, Lexi Rogers – 14 kills, Jessica Ploss – 12 kills). The Tritons then suffered a 3-2 loss to Missouri S&T on Friday night despite 12 kills and 10 blocks from Ploss and a 38-dig effort from senior Erin Walker. UMSL closed out the year with a five-set victory over Drury on Senior Day on Saturday. Walker recorded 35 digs, while senior Carly Ochs tallied a career-best 22 kills. UMSL finishes the year 16-16 overall and was 9-9 in the GLVC, just missing out on a tournament spot.

Women’s Basketball
The Tritons were victorious in their season opener against Georgetown College on Saturday afternoon, winning 79-55. Three players scored in double figures, including a 15-point performance from junior Robneisha Lee. UMSL outscored Georgetown College in all four quarters and forced 24 turnovers, collecting 17 steals. UMSL (1-0) will host Lindenwood on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. before wrapping up the week at Upper Iowa on Friday night and at Minnesota State-Mankato on Sunday.

Men’s Basketball
UMSL opened its season with a pair of losses in Michigan at the GLVC/GLIAC Challenge. The Tritons could not overcome a 41-18 halftime deficit in falling to Ferris State, 80-55, before dropping a 63-57 verdict to Grand Valley State. The host Lakers outscored UMSL, 6-0, in the final 3:18 to garner the win. Joseph English averaged 10.0 points and 3.0 assists for the Tritons. UMSL (0-2) will open a seven-game homestand on Wednesday, hosting Fontbonne in its home opener before entertaining Lindenwood on Saturday.

Men’s Swimming
Junior Mladen Senicar had a pair of runner-up finishes for UMSL at the Lindenwood Invitational last Saturday, anchoring the 200-yard medley relay and placing second in the 50-yard freestyle. The Tritons defeated Maryville (203-18) and Lindenwood-Belleville (126-125), but lost to Lindenwood (251-41). UMSL is in Rolla, Mo., Friday and Saturday to compete against Missouri S&T and Ouchita Baptist.

Women’s Swimming
Sophomore Angie Quiroga Angie Quiroga won the 100-yard backstroke on Saturday at the Lindenwood Invitational, while freshman Amber Visser was second in the 100-yard butterfly, bettering her own school record in 1:00.89. The Tritons defeated Maryville (148-13), but lost to Lindenwood-Belleville (129-87) and Lindenwood (244-34). UMSL is in Rolla, Mo., Friday and Saturday to compete against Missouri S&T and Ouchita Baptist.
