Dual rankings name UMSL nursing’s online RN to BSN program among best in country

These are just three of the reasons why the online RN to BSN program at the University of Missouri–St. Louis has recently been ranked among the best in the country by two separate sources.

Value Colleges – No. 15

Value Colleges compiled its list of the Top 50 Best Value Online RN to BSN Programs for 2017 by looking at a combination of data from the U.S. Department of Education, rankings from U.S. News and World Report and the cost of tuition per credit hour.

The strength and pace of UMSL’s five-semester sequenced curriculum, coupled with its affordability and reputation for excellence, earned the university the No. 15 ranking.

Top RN to BSN – No. 35

Top RN to BSN also considered cost and U.S. News and World Report data – plus the success of alumni –  in order to provide its own ranking of the 50 Best Online RN to BSN programs.UMSL, Best RN to BSN

UMSL came in at No. 35 thanks to the highly in-demand relevancy of courses that focus on contemporary topics like community health, evidence-based practice and nursing leadership. The ranking also lauded the positive impact graduates of the College of Nursing are having not only in St. Louis, but across the entire Midwest.

Upon hearing the news about both accolades, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Kristin Sobolik offered further praise, along with hearty congratulations.

“The College of Nursing has long been a leader on our campus and throughout the region when it comes to providing flexible, career-relevant, online learning options for our students,” Sobolik said. “The online RN to BSN program is just one of many innovative and exemplary programs they’ve designed to meet the demand for a well-trained, professional and compassionate nursing workforce. I’m honored to support the work of the College of Nursing and excited to see what new initiatives Dean Susan Dean-Baar and her faculty and staff have in store for the future.”
