Yaakema Rose Jr. finished with a team-high 15 points and added six rebounds and four steals as the Tritons knocked of Quincy 64-54 on Friday night in Quincy, Illinois.

Men’s Basketball
UMSL won its second straight road game, knocking off Quincy 64-54 on Friday night to improve to 7-2, including 2-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. Senior guard Yaakema Rose Jr. led a balanced offensive attack with 15 points, six rebounds and four steals, and he scored six points during an 11-0 second-half run that lifted the Tritons to a 42-32 lead. They pulled ahead by as many as 14 points after being tied at halftime. Forward Marty Jackson and guard Shane Wissink both had 14 points, and forward Jose Grubbs added nine points and eight rebounds. UMSL held Quincy to 34.4 percent shooting. The Tritons will be idle until Dec. 20 when they take on Parkside at 3 p.m. in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Women’s Basketball
The Tritons scheduled game against Christian Brothers was postponed on Thursday night. The two teams will now face off at 2 p.m. on Dec. 30 in Memphis, Tennessee. UMSL (6-1), ranked just outside the top 10 in the D2SIDA Midwest Regional rankings, will visit Principia at 1 p.m. Saturday in Elsah, Illinois.
