UMSL’s Golden Legacy – Homecoming Door Decoration Contest

Greetings, UMSL Community!

As we step into the celebratory spirit of UMSL’s 60th year of operation, the Office of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion is thrilled to share the outcomes of our recent Homecoming Door Decoration Contest under the theme “The Golden Legacy: UMSL Pride Meets Bridgerton.”

It was truly an honor for our office to host this contest which encapsulates the creative spirit and community engagement that defines our UMSL community. Participants from various offices embraced the challenge of infusing UMSL Pride with the elegant styles of Bridgerton, resulting in a spectacular showcase of talent and imagination.

Our 1st winner is the Graduate School at 121 Woods Hall. The judges were blown away by all the intricate details and effort that went into making such a vibrant and atmospheric door decoration. Congratulations to them on securing the coveted First Place!

For 2nd place our judges found themselves at a tie! Our two 2nd place winners are the Office of Undergraduate Business Programs at 107 Anheuser Busch Hall and The Chancellor’s Office at 401 Woods Hall. Both charmed the judges with their interpretations of this years theme!

We would also like to shout out The Office of Student Involvement located in room 366 of the MSC as an honorable mention. The OSI went above and beyond converting almost their entire front office into a Golden Legacy with photos commemorating past Homecoming festivities and royalty!

This year’s theme, inspired by UMSL’s 60th-anniversary celebration, encouraged participants to weave in elements of our Golden Legacy alongside the elegance reminiscent of Bridgerton. The results surpassed expectations, showcasing not only artistic prowess, but also a deep connection to the university’s history and legacy.

As we bask in the glory of this year’s Homecoming Door Decoration Contest, we also extend our gratitude to all participants for making this celebration truly special. Your dedication and creative energy have left an indelible mark on our university’s 60th-anniversary festivities. Below is a list of all of our amazing 15 participants, and we hope to see even more offices involved in next year’s contest.
