“Fall Figure 28” will be featured in the exhibit “Finding Muse” at UMSL’s Gallery Visio.

Roderick Young has worked as a figure model for more than 10 years at the University of Missouri–St. Louis and other local university art programs. Area art students have found Young to have an inspirational energy that has been a positive catalyst for their own creative energies. The model’s role will be celebrated with “Finding Muse,” a collection of artwork figuratively depicting Young in a variety of medium.

“Finding Muse” will open tomorrow at UMSL’s Gallery Visio. An opening reception will be from 4 to 7 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public and will remain on display through Oct. 28.

Gallery Visio, the student-run gallery at the university, is in 170 Millennium Student Center at UMSL’s North Campus, One University Blvd., St. Louis County (63121). It is committed to exhibiting art by undergraduate students and alumni at UMSL, as well as emerging artists. The gallery hosts art activities for the purpose of study, education and enjoyment. Regular gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
