MADCO takes ‘Pulse!’ to stage for season start
Modern American Dance Company will open its 35th season with “Pulse!”
MADCO, the dance company in residence at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, will perform a series of dynamic pieces by American choreographers. Matt Henry, director of percussion studies at UMSL, will amp up the dance performances with his live drumming.
“Pulse!” will begin at 8 p.m. Oct. 7 and Oct. 8 in the E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center. Doors will open at 7:10 p.m. for a pre-show discussion. Tickets are $21-$23.
MADCO’s mission is to create innovative and memorable dance performances combining passion and technical excellence to provide its audiences with a world-class arts experience. It’s known for its versatile and athletic style, presenting dance that is exciting for audiences to watch and demanding for dancers to perform. The Kansas City Star calls MADCO’s performances “bright, witty, theatrical and unabashedly entertaining.”
