The University of Missouri–St. Louis softball team swept visiting University of Illinois Springfield on April 21, posting wins of 3-0 and 6-5 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.

The UMSL Tritons move to 31-11 overall, including 22-4 in league play with the victories. With its game one win, the Tritons notched a 30-win season for the 11th time in program history, including the second time in three years under third-year head coach Brian Levin.

UMSL also set a new program record for GLVC victories, surpassing the 20 previously recorded in Levin’s first season (2011), when UMSL went 20-5 and earned the league’s regular season title.

UIS falls to 17-25, including 11-15 in the GLVC.

Junior Ashleigh King (pictured) paced the offense by going a combined 3-for-7 at the plate with two home runs and four RBIs and delivered the game-winning hit in the second game, while freshman Hannah Perryman got the win in the circle in both games.

UMSL will play its final road games of the regular season on April 24, traveling across town to Maryville University in Town and Country, Mo. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 3 p.m.
