St. Louis Public Radio and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch interviewed Associate Professor Aimee Dunlap and Assistant Professor Sara Miller about the cicada broods emerging in the region after 13 years underground. With St. Louis Public Radio, the pair discussed working to map cicada density throughout St. Louis, as residents have noticed they seem to be absent in large portions of the city. They also spoke with the Post-Dispatch about the damage some cicadas are causing to tree branches.
The St. Louis Business Journal featured an innovative six-week program held at the University of Missouri-St. Louis to provides access to business and entrepreneurial curriculum, internship opportunities and personal development to 14 rising eighth-grade girls. The program is a partnership between First Bank and Girls Inc. and is modeled after Girls Inc.’s successful Eureka! program.
