The University of Missouri–St. Louis Department of Music will present its annual Holiday Jazz Concert at 3 p.m. Dec. 4 in the Anheuser-Busch Performance Hall at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center.
This event is free and open to the public. One of the most anticipated concerts of the holiday season, it will feature:
- The combined sound of the University Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Jim Widner, director of jazz studies.
- The acclaimed a cappella group Vocal Point, under the direction of Jim Henry, director of choral studies.
- The University Orchestra, under the direction of Dan Presgrave, orchestra conductor.
The concert also will feature special guest artists and spectacular stage lighting. Whether a fan of the Boston Pops, Henry Mancini or Count Basie, everyone will get a “swinging” start to the holidays.
