The Tedeschi Trucks Band will perform July 14 at the Touhill Center at UMSL.

While Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi have been spouses for more than a decade, their musical marriage is just two years old. But they’ve packed in plenty of accolades in that time as leaders of the 11-piece Tedeschi Trucks Band including a Grammy Award for Best Blues Album for TTB’s debut “Revelator.”

The Tedeschi Trucks Band will bring their bluesy Dixie-soul music to the University of Missouri–St. Louis for a concert at 8 p.m. July 14 at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $45-$67.50.

TTB formed in 2010 not long after Tedeschi and Trucks put their respective successful solo careers on hiatus to spend more time together and with their children. The band just released “Everybody’s Talkin’,” a live album follow-up to the band’s 2011 debut, “Revelator.”

Tedeschi is known for her pliant, honey-to-husky vocals and talents as an electric blues guitarist. Inspired by Otis Rush, Buddy Guy, Magic Sam and other electric blues legends, she formed the Susan Tedeschi Band in 1994. The band went on to garner numerous Grammy nominations and would open for the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, B.B. King and Buddy Guy.

Rolling Stone has twice named Trucks to the magazine’s list of “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” – most recently ranking him 16th on the list sandwiched between Freddy King and Neil Young. A child prodigy on guitar, he had formed his own Derek Trucks Band and become a member of the Allman Brothers Band by the time he was 20. He later toured as a sideman to Eric Clapton and is widely considered the best slide guitarist playing today.
