Noted labor economist, author and political commentator Julianne Malveaux speaks Jan. 21 in the Anheuser-Busch Performance Hall at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. Her lecture was part of the university’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Observance. More than 800 guests attended the program, which included musical performances by The Dickson String Quartet, Normandy High School Jazz Band and Trinity Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Mass Choir. A total of four students from Hazelwood East High School, Hazelwood West High School and University City High School took part in the paid summer internship program.
