The St. Louis Business Journal refers to them as “the St. Louis nonprofit dream team.” They are 16 St. Louisans serving on at least three of the region’s largest nonprofit boards. University of Missouri–St. Louis Chancellor Tom George is among the dream teamers featured in “The Ultimate St. Louis Board,” the St. Louis Business Journal’s cover story this week.
In the article, the weekly newspaper listed George’s board memberships, which include the St. Louis Science Center, the United Way, the YMCA, Innovate St. Louis, Grand Center, BioSTL, Beyond Housing, CORTEX and the Higher Education Consortium.
“George, 66, is also on the advisory board of Innovative Technology Enterprises, on the executive board of the Boy Scouts and on the board of trustees for the Academy of Science of St. Louis,” Angela Mueller of the Business Journal wrote.
The 16 members of the “Ultimate St. Louis Board” oversee organizations with a combined operating budget of about $400 million and more than 2,800 full-time employees, according to the Business Journal.
