Women’s Basketball
The University of Missouri St. Louis (17-6, 10-5 Great Lakes Valley Conference) won its sixth straight last Thursday night with a 68-65 win at Bellarmine. Senior Hazaria Washington stole the ball and made a layup and free throw in the final five seconds to secure the win. The UMSL Tritons then suffered a 69-57 loss at Southern Indiana on Saturday after shooting a season-low 31.7 percent. Washington averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 assists per game in the two contests. UMSL will close out a three-game road swing at No. 11 ranked Quincy on Thursday before hosting Truman State on Saturday in the regular season home finale.

Men’s Basketball
UMSL (13-10, 7-8 GLVC) lost a pair of GLVC road games last week. The Tritons fell victim to Bellarmine 72-59 before suffering a 75-58 loss at No. 22 ranked Southern Indiana. Junior Tylor Wimbish averaged 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. UMSL will travel to Quincy on Thursday to close out a three-game roadtrip and returns home on Saturday night to host Truman State in the regular season home finale.

Softball
No. 18 ranked UMSL opened the season the last weekend with six games at the 8-State Classic, hosted by Arkansas-Monticello. The Tritons posted a 5-1 record, with its lone loss coming to No. 1 ranked and defending national champion Central Oklahoma. Senior Ashleigh King led the team with nine hits, including three doubles, while batting .450, while sophomore Hannah Perryman recorded 28 strikeouts with an 0.36 ERA, posting a 2-1 record with one save. UMSL returns to the field March 1-2 at the Teri Mathis-Zenner Memorial Tournament, hosted by Missouri Southern in Joplin, Mo.

Men’s Golf
No. 16 ranked UMSL opened the spring portion of its schedule on Sunday at the Frito Lay Taco Bell Intercollegiate in Choctaw, Miss. The Tritons fired a 293 to lead the 15-team field, with 18 holes to play today. Individually, senior Joe Atkisson was two strokes under par with a 70 and is in a three-way tie for first place.
