Softball
The University of Missouri–St. Louis (16-2, 6-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference) went 8-0 last week with sweeps of Upper Iowa, McKendree, Quincy and Truman State. Offensively, junior Jena Boudreau tallied 13 hits, including six doubles and three home runs, while finishing with 11 RBIs and nine runs scored. Sophomore pitcher Hannah Perryman picked up five wins in the circle, posting an ERA of 0.54, striking out 50 in 26 innings of work. UMSL will play at Newman and Pittsburg State on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, before returning home to host William Jewell and Rockhurst this weekend in GLVC action.
Baseball
UMSL (6-8, 4-4 GLVC) lost a nonconference midweek game at McKendree, but bounced back to take three of four in a home series against Wisconsin-Parkside. Seniors Joe Wieczkowski and Michael Budka each had five hits against the Rangers, while seniors Zach Standefer and Jonathan Rosario tossed complete game victories on Saturday. The Tritons return to the field this weekend, hosting Rockhurst in a four-game series.
Men’s Tennis
UMSL (7-2) won all three of its matches last week with senior Nils Mueggenburg going a combined 6-0 in singles and doubles, both at the No. 1 positions. UMSL is in Tampa for its spring break trip and will face Florida Southern tomorrow. The Tritons then return home on Friday for three straight GLVC matches.
Women’s Tennis
UMSL (9-3) picked up four wins last week, including a 5-2 decision at Maryville in the GLVC opener. Senior Nina Bellanger won all four of her singles matches and picked up three doubles victories. UMSL is in Tampa for its spring break trip and will face Florida Southern tomorrow. The Tritons then return home on Friday for three straight GLVC matches.
Women’s Golf
UMSL finished sixth out of 23 teams at the Perry Park Spring Fling, hosted by Lewis. Bailey Hopper (tie for sixth) and Tayler Hoag (eighth place) both posted top 10 finishes individually. UMSL returns to the links April 5-6 at the OVU Women’s Invitational in Parksersburg, W.Va.
