UMSL Opera Theatre to present ‘L’Amour’

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Opera Theatre at the University of Missouri-St. Louis will perform "L'Amour," two nights of opera's most celebrated love stories.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Opera Theatre at the University of Missouri-St. Louis will perform “L’Amour,” two nights of opera’s most celebrated love stories. The concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4 and 5 at the E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater in the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center at UMSL. “L’Amour” is free and open to the public.

Each evening of amorous song will take on themes of hearts full of hope, ache and longing entanglement. UMSL Opera Theatre will capture passionate moments from “Così fan tutte,” “Carmen,” “La traviata,” “Manon,” “The Tales of Hoffman,” “The Elixir of Love” and “The Pearl Fishers.” Stella Markou, director of vocal studies at UMSL, conducts the student performance group.
