The best and brightest in nanoscience will converge on St. Louis for the Missouri Nanofrontiers Symposium, co-hosted by the University of Missouri–St. Louis and Washington University in St. Louis. Check in is at 7:45 a.m. for the all-day event at Whitaker Hall on Washington University’s Danforth Campus, One Bookings Dr., St. Louis, Mo., 63130. The symposium and poster session will be held 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 27 in Brauer Hall.
Sen. Christopher S. “Kit” Bond will serve as the keynote speaker. The technical keynote speaker is Zhong Lin Wang, Regents’ Professor, COE Distinguished Professor and director of the Center for Nanostructure Characterization in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
The symposium provides a place for researchers and practitioners to discuss recent advances in the field, identify potential opportunities for commercialization, share entrepreneurial experiences and connect academia with industries, government agencies, and private foundations and ventures.
There will be technical sessions on nanomedicine, nanomaterials, energy, sensing and commercialization, and regional infrastructure.
