Alla Voskoboynikova, coordinator of piano studies at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, will direct “Music of the 20th Century,” a faculty chamber music concert. The performance, part of the UMSL Chamber Music Concert Series, will begin at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17 in the E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater at UMSL’s Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center. It is free and open to the public.

Faculty from the Department of Music at UMSL will perform music by a variety of classical composers, including Francis Poulenc, Bela Bartok and Otar Taktakishvili. Performers will include pianist Voskoboynikova, pianist Vera Parkin, percussionist Matt Henry, percussionist Tom Zirkle, soprano Stella Markou, clarinetist Jeanine York-Garesche and flautist Paula Kasica.

Voskoboynikova was a pianist and vocal coach at the Kiev Opera and Ballet Theater in Ukraine. She has collaborated locally with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra and Union Avenue Opera Company.

The Touhill is on UMSL’s North Campus, One University Blvd. in St. Louis County (63121). The concert is sponsored by the Department of Music and College of Fine Arts and Communication at UMSL.
