Description: This course is designed to teach you how to use Triton Apps. Did you know that several of your favorite software programs are now online so you can use them at home? Now you can use Microsoft Office 2010 at home. Programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project and Visio can be used without cost or the hassle of installing them on your computer. Other programs like SPSS, StataIC 12, Minitab 16, Matlab, Gars, Atlas ti 6, EViews 8 and ACD Labs ChemSketch can all be used at home.

Basic Computer Skills

Great Getaway

Book Launch: Modern Girls on the Go

Description: Come join us in celebrating the publication of “Modern Girls on the Go: Gender, Mobility, and Labor in Japan,” edited by Alisa Freedman, Laura Miller and Christine Yano (Stanford University Press 2013). This interdisciplinary volume investigates the lived experiences and cultural depictions of women who have been integral to Japan’s national workforce but have been overlooked by scholars. Conspicuous in their uniforms, they often initiated and symbolized changes in discourses about gender, labor and modernity. Laura Miller, Eiichi Shibusawa-Seigo Arai Professor of Japanese Studies at UMSL, will give a presentation on “Elevator Girls.”

Eye on UMSL: Stomp the Yard

Students experienced the energy and rich traditions of UMSL’s historically Black Greek-letter organizations as they showcased their stepping skills at the annual event.
