The end of the school year is a happy time with more sunshine and outdoor events. But for University of Missouri–St. Louis alumnus Sheldon Webster, it’s the time of year he becomes the most stressed.

Webster, BSEd 1986, is the girls track and field coach at McCluer North High School in Florissant, Mo. And spring for him means the state championship. The practices and hard work paid off this year as the Stars brought home the state title May 31 during the Missouri track and field championships at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association also took note, naming Webster the Missouri Girls Coach of the Year.

The win makes the first state title for McCluer North. Read more about the victory in the story on STLhighschoolsports.com.
