UMSL student McKayla Harder

University of Missouri–St. Louis freshman forward McKayla Harder is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Harder, a psychology major, helped UMSL to three road wins, including two in GLVC action. She played a part in the UMSL Tritons outscoring their opponents 13-1, contributing two goals and one assist. The freshman’s assist came in the week’s first game at Oakland City on Tuesday, which UMSL won 6-0. She then added two goals in the Tritons’ 5-0 victory at William Jewell on Friday. UMSL also posted a 2-1 win at Rockhurst on Sunday.

In starting all three matches, Harder was a perfect six for six in shots on goal.

This is the first career weekly honor for the Mount Zion, Ill., native and the second Triton offensive selection this season as Miriam Taylor was chosen just last week on October 5.

UMSL is 9-1-2 overall and has won seven straight. The Tritons are also 7-1-2 in GLVC play and will travel to McKendree on Friday and to Illinois Springfield on Sunday.
