The Tritons men's soccer team picked up its first victory of the season with a 3-2 win over Northern Michigan.

Junior Pat Ries (12) scored a pair of goals Sunday against Northern Michigan to help the Tritons men’s soccer team pick up its first victory of the season.

Men’s Soccer
UMSL picked up its first win of the year last Sunday with a 3-2 victory over Northern Michigan to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to Lindenwood in its season opener two nights earlier. Junior Pat Ries finished the week with two goals and an assist. UMSL opens Great Lakes Valley Conference play this weekend at Southern Indiana and Bellarmine on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

Volleyball
The Tritons opened the season at the Lindenwood Invitational, posting a 2-2 record, which included victories over Georgian Court and the host Lions. Junior Gina Pezze was named to the all-tournament team after leading UMSL with 2.92 kills and 2.46 digs per set. UMSL returns to the court next Friday and Saturday with three matches at the Scott Jones Classic hosted by Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville, Tennessee.

Women’s Tennis
Freshmen Marina Prediger and Janet Auclair earned runner-up honors in the “white flight” at the Fulton Medical Center/William Woods Doubles Invite on Saturday to highlight action for the Tritons. UMSL returns to the courts September 23-25 at the ITA Regionals in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
