Senior guard Elijah Watson hit a jumper with 0.9 seconds remaining to lift the Tritons to a 59-57 victory over visiting McKendree on Saturday.

Women’s Basketball
UMSL bounced back from a 69-65 loss at Illinois Springfield Thursday night by posting a 63-55 victory over visiting McKendree on Saturday. Senior Jordan Fletcher averaged 17.5 points in the two games, moving her career total to 998. Junior Kaitlynn Henning added 10.5 points and 4.5 steals per game, recording career highs of 14 points and seven steals in the win. The Tritons (8-5, 2-4 Great Lakes Valley Conference) host Maryville on Thursday night before traveling to Quincy on Saturday.

Men’s Basketball
Senior Elijah Watson hit a game-winning jumper with 0.9 seconds to play, lifting UMSL to a 59-57 win over McKendree on Saturday. He finished with a season-high 24 points in that victory. The win came after the Tritons suffered a 61-59 loss at Illinois Springfield on Thursday. UMSL (8-7, 3-3) will host Maryville on Thursday and travels to Quincy on Saturday.

Men’s and Women’s Swimming
The Tritons honored its three seniors on Saturday as they played host to Saint Louis in their home finale. Those individuals included Alvaro Zaragoza, Nico Ruiz and Angie Quiroga. The men won three events, including two by sophomore Patryk Golinski in the 1,000- and 500-yard freestyles, while the 200-yard medley relay team also took first place. UMSL is at McKendree on Saturday.
